Bagua classes around Melbourne and its suburbs. Our aim is to promote the health
benefits of ancient Chinese martial arts to people of all ages and nationalities.

Getting Started: It is easy! Try out an introduction class at a location
near you. This class is complimentary if you register by giving TWIA a

About our Instructors: It is important to be aware that Tai Chi and Qi Gong
need to be taught and practised correctly to gain the best results. That is why
all our instructors are carefully selected and fully qualified to teach Master Shao's
highly effective programs. Our instructors are accredited by the Australian Sports
Commission, have been technically qualified through the grading system equivalent
to International Wushu Federation standards, and fully covered by insurance.
Master Shao Zhao Ming
Our chief instructor Master Shao began training in Chinese Martial Arts (Wushu-Kung
Fu) at the early age of five. By the age of six, he was selected and trained under
the guidance of China’s renowned Grand Master Zhang Tong & Grand Master Ma Xian
Da.
Master Shao was the National Open Champion of China in 1989 & 1990. Due to his achievements
and knowledge, he was appointed Coach of China’s prestigious Beijing University
of Physical Education Tai Chi and Wushu team. Dedication to his studies and training
has resulted in his attainment of ‘Wu Ying’ (the highest level of Wushu-Kung Fu)
awarded by the Sports Commission of China.
He currently holds 7th Dan for Kung Fu-Wushu and the Australian National Wushu/Tai
Chi Team Coach, and many of his students have become national and International
champions. He is the only person from China having these qualifications combining
the Martial & Healing arts.
Master Shao has a clinical practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Melbourne
and is the founder of Tai Chi Wushu Insititue of Australia.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi improves muscle tone, strength, fitness, joint flexibility, balance and
co-ordination. Its deep breathing exercises promote the increase of oxygen in the
blood and its circulation to vital organs. The exercises are suitable for people
of all ages. Each individual possesses a unique tolerance level with respect to
their physical ability. With consistent practise, you can increase the tolerance
and build up flexibility & strength.

Wushu Kungfu
Wushu (also known as Kung Fu or Chinese Martial Arts) has developed and enriched
itself through the life practice of the Chinese people into a great variety of styles,
which are rich in content and diversified in form. Wu Shu routines incorporate kicking,
beating, throwing, seizing, striking and thrusting into set routine exercise using
various combinations of attack and defense, advance and retreat, dynamic and static
states, quickness and slowness, toughness and solidity.

Bagua
The original name of Ba Gua Zhang was Zhuan Zhang, which means "Turning Palms".
Based on the "I Ching", Ba Gua is one of the most exotic and misunderstood of the
Chinese Martial Arts. It has its own mythology, and novel training methods. With
emphasis in circular evasion methods and powerful palm strikes, it is one of the
most effective of the martial arts.
